Papers on the conference themes are invited. The abstracts, maximum 250 words, should be submitted to the CAPA Secretariat (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) not later than May 10, 2018. Authors of accepted papers will be informed by May 31, 2018 and the completed power-point (maximum 10 slides) and full-length papers, written in accordance with CAPA’S Instruction to Authors, will be due by July 21, 2018.

Theme : “Enhancing Technical Capacity and Partnerships for Industrial and Sustainable Economic Development in Africa.”


  1. From consumption to production oriented economies in Africa: Issues and strategies;
  2. Innovative and appropriate technologies for the development of energy, agriculture, food, housing and textile sectors in African countries;
  3. Prospects of mines and steel development for accelerated manufacturing and industrialisation in Africa;
  4. Competency-based education & training and curriculum development in TVET
  5. Enhancing technical skills development in African countries through standardisation and harmonisation of qualifications frameworks;
  6. Entrepreneurship development and novel approaches for strengthening SMEs and youth employment;
  7. Building partnerships for promoting skilled technical manpower and industrial development in Africa;
  8. Fast tracking socioeconomic development in African countries through enhanced women’s participation in TVET

The conference registration fee is US$500. This amount will cover conference materials, snacks and lunches for the meeting days. Early bird registration (by March 31, 2018) will attract a discount of 10%, and a group registration (more than five participants) attracts a discount of 15%. The Conference shall hold at the Main Conference Hall of Nicon Luxury Hotel, 903 Tafawa Balewa Way, Garki, Abuja, Nigeria. While delegates are generally advised to lodge at Nicon Luxury Hotel, the Local Organising Committee shall negotiate favourable rates in a number of other hotels and lodges that are located close enough to the conference venue. When this is done, we recommend that prospective delegates should please indicate their preference and confirm their room bookings with the LOC early enough.
